Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She is the host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde hair and an ebullient persona, shows how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has studied Italy's culinary tradition and its culture along with the natural geography. As a youngster, living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her passion for working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable experience for me. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Chef Burrell resided in Italy for one year attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions while in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of kids who struggle. She also is an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate, where she raises awareness about young diabetics. She is a frequent guest to speak at conferences and tours the country to mentor others in her job. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career she's grateful to be able to share what's most important to her.
